Los 100 libros más leídos de todos los tiempos

De libros publicados en inglés, claro, pues en castellano estas cosas parecen no importar a nadie: The Guardian realizó una encuesta entre 100 escritores para elegir los 100 libros más leídos de todos los tiempos. La lista, a pesar de incluir los clásicos de costumbre, incluye algunas sorpresas.

Sabiamente, el diario inglés evita numerar la lista. Desde luego, se incluye El Quijote, El Libro de Job y Cien años de soledad, entre otros títanes.

Las sorpresas son gratas algunas, y otras nos hacen dudar del buen gusto o de la objetividad de los encuestados. La primera es la inclusión de Ensayo sobre la ceguera del recientemente desaparecido José Saramago, una de sus novelas menores y sobrevaloradas.

Entre las sorpresas grata
s figuran las inclusiones de Pessoa con su Libro del Desasosiego, Juan Rulfo y su Pedro Páramo, y de Las memorias de Adriano de Marguerite Yourcenar.

    Ensayo sobre la ceguera es la novela que le dió el Nobel de Literatura a José Saramago, personalmente uno de los mejoreslibros que existen. Se nota que no lo ha leído y al parecer sus comentarios se basan en googlear los nombres de aquellas obras literarias, eso si que es penoso. Para dar una crítica literaria por lo menos se debe tener una información básica y no ser antojadizo en los comentarios, que por cierto también son tan desacertados. Saludos.

    Salvo unas pocas excepciones, la lista es la de los libros más aburridos ever. Verdaderos plomazos de la literatura universal.

    Probablemente habrá quién crea que una mamada como «Amanecer» sea elevado a la altura de Clásico, o Barbara Wood… Whatever.
